+ TeachingDollar General is critical in the daily lives of so many but is underexplored in architectural thought and discourse. If architects, educators, and historians are to confront their relationship to ecological harm and still pursue optimistic pathways forward, they must expand beyond the speculative and the niche assemblies of LEED-certified buildings that only few can afford, and embrace the highly franchised, extra-ordinary, and ubiquitous. Luckily for us, Dollar Generals are plentiful, wait patiently, and are always close by.
